In life, we all have a purpose and calling, but it can be challenging to know how to fulfill it. We may doubt ourselves, question our abilities, or struggle to understand how to get there. However, the Bible teaches us that faith is essential in fulfilling our calling.
Faith is the foundation of fulfilling our calling. Without faith, we will struggle to believe that we can accomplish our task, and we will be filled with doubt and fear. In the story of Joshua found in the Old Testament, God commands him to be strong and courageous. God's command to be strong and courageous is a command to be physically and emotionally strong. Physically strong means to show no physical signs of fear or doubt, like trembling, that he will accomplish his task. Emotionally strong means Joshua needed to have no doubt in his heart or mind that he would have the victory that God promised him.
We must have the same kind of faith that Joshua had, believing that God is with us and that He will help us fulfill our calling. It may not always be easy to have this kind of faith, but it is important to remember that God does not call the qualified, but He qualifies the called.
Another example of faith in fulfilling one's calling can be found in the story of Abraham. When God called Abraham to leave his homeland and go to a place that He would show him, Abraham had faith and obeyed. Abraham's faith in God's promise to make him a great nation and bless him became the foundation of his life and the fulfillment of his calling.
Faith allows us to trust in God's plan for our lives, even when we do not understand it fully. It helps us to stay focused on our calling and persevere through challenges and obstacles. In Hebrews 11:1, it says, "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." Faith is the assurance that our calling will be fulfilled, even if we cannot see the path ahead.
Having faith in fulfilling our calling allows us to give glory to God. When we trust in God and His plan, we acknowledge that He is the one who is guiding us and helping us along the way. It is through His strength and power that we can accomplish great things, and it is important to give Him the credit and glory for our successes.
Faith is essential in fulfilling our calling. It gives us the foundation to believe that we can accomplish our task, trust in God's plan, persevere through challenges, and give glory to Him. As we face our calling with faith, we can be confident that God will be with us every step of the way.
